Santa Hat Ornament

For this Pattern I just pretty much used my Nose Warmer pattern with a few small changes.

Materials:
Set of US 1.5 / 2.5mm dpns
Worsted/medium weight yarn
(Working with this weight of yarn and this size needle is a pain in the butt, I know. But the end result is worth it. Plus, you can always change the needle size if you, though it will make the hat bigger.)

To knit Santa Hat:

Cast on 40 sts with CC (I used White)

Round 1: K2, p2
Round 2: K2, p2
Tie on MC(I used red) and work in stockinette st as follows
Round 3: K
Round 4:K
Round 5: *K6, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 6: K
Round 7: *K5, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 8: K
Round 9: *K4, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 10: K
Round 11:*K3, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 12: K
Round 13: *K2, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 14: K
Round 15: * K1, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 16: K
Round17: *K2tog, repeat from * to end. (5 sts left)
Cut yarn, use darning needle to pull through remaining sts and weave in ends.

Gather some CC yarn ends together that are about 2 inches or longer. Attach to top of hat. To make the 'PomPom' fuller and thicker, unravel yarn.

Attach a loop or hook to hang from tree.

Nose Warmer

Materials:
Set of US 1.5 / 2.5mm dpns
Fingering weight yarn

To knit nosewarmer:

Cast on 40 sts

Round 1: K1, p1
Round 2: K1, p1
Work in stockinette st as follows
Round 3: K
Round 4:K
Round 5: *K6, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 6: K
Round 7: *K5, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 8: K
Round 9: *K4, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 10: K
Round 11:*K3, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 12: K
Round 13: *K2, K2tog, repeat from * to end.

Round 14: K
Round 15: * K1, K2tog, repeat from * to end.
Round 16: K
Round17: *K2tog, repeat from * to end. (5 sts left)
Cut yarn, use darning needle to pull through remaining sts and weave in ends.

To make cord:
I used six strands of the yarn and braid a long enough cord to fit around you head. I braided a 21 inch cord.
Tie cord onto nosewarmer and enjoy a toasty warm nose always!!!

Tiny Scarf Ornament

Well, this is the first pattern that I created that I actually finished. It super easy and really yarn weight and needle size doesn't matter. Knit with what your comfortable with. But I will state what I used as a refrence. :-)

Materials:

Medium/worsted weight yarn
2 Size US 6 / 4mm needles
Yarn needle

CO8 sts with Colour1
Work in Stockingette (K 1 row, Purl 1 row) Stitch until colour measures aprox. 3/4 - 1 inch (This was about 4 to 5 rows for me)
Switch to Colour2 and work in Stockingette for another 3/4-1inch and switch colours again.
Work in pattern until scarf measures about 10 inches long.
Bind off and weave in ends.

Attach tassles by folding a bit of yarn in half, thread the two end into a yarn needle, leaving the loop sticking up enough to feed the two end through. Pull to tighten.
I unraveled the two yarn ends to make the tassles look fuller.

Fold Scarf in the manner you prefer and sew together. I made sure that 2 red sections were together and sewed it using red yarn, so it wasn't visible.

Making the ornament loop hangy thingy..... I have to idea what it would be called. The little loop thing that hangs the ornament off the tree. Ornament loop, I suppose?

Anyway, This is how you make it. Well, how I made it.

I braided together three strands of red yarn, knotting only one end. After braided, thread the non-knotted end into the needle and attach to ornament.

I have a problem

Hello, My name is Jaime and I have a problem.

I buy and hord yarn. Wool mostly. I just can't get enough. I have more wool yarn than I know what to do with. Going into Michael's or any yarn store is dangerous for me and my bank account. I know I should stop. As I said, I have more yarn than projects..... But it's just so pretty n(*.*)n

So I bought more yarn today...... $40 later... lol

I bought 4 skeins of Merino Wool for 3 reasons:

1) I need wool for the Santa Scarf I will be making
2) They were on sale 2 for $10
and 3) I couldn't decide between 2 colors so I had to get a 4th

I also bought a pair of needles and more row counters.

So my knitting collection is growing and as of yet I have no way of containing it........ We tried. Bree put out baskets to put our yarn in. But it can only contain so much.....

Help! I'm being overtaken by yarn! Well, at least I'll be warm....

T's Pressie

Okies. So I had an awesome for knitting T's xmas gift. Only....... Try as I might, I can't find a pattern for it anywhere. Granted I've only looked on Ravlery, but I figure if Ravelry doesn't have it I'm not likely to find it else where. Solution to this problem? I've been thinking about it and I'm pretty sure I can make a pattern for it. It seems simple enough. Though what seems simple, may not be all that easy once I start knitting it....... So we shall have to see how it turns out.

What is it you ask? Unfortunately, I can't say. T may be reading this. :-p

Started Christmas Knitting already......

Okay. So I've just recently taken up knitting. :-p As in I started........ *thinks* in Marchish? Possibly April.... Anyway, I think I'm doing pretty damn good. But This is not the point of this entry.

I have started my Christmas projects.

Project #1 - A 14 inch tall Elephant Plushie

Project #2 - A Santa Scarf

Project #3 - Arm Warmers

Project #1's pattern in from the book Easy To Make Knitted Toys. The pattern is called Big Jumbo.
I'm half way through the knitting the body and I want to stab myself in the eye with my needles. It's not that the pattern is hard. It's just a lot of knitting. Knitting Stockette stitch for 43 rows, 144 sts a row is not my idea of fun. It's very boring...... Thankfully I have a few months to finish this project. :-p

Project #2 I am making the pattern for. *squee* My first pattern all by me! I saw a picture of this scraf and thought: 'I could knit that!' So I will be making a pattern for it and posting here and on Ravelry when it's completed. I need to go to the wool Shop and get some nice yarn for it.
